Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking an Associate Employee & Labor Relations Consultant. This primarily remote role involves occasional on-site work at Potomac Valley Hospital and Garrett Regional Medical Center.

You will oversee employee and labor relations, advise management on CBAs, participate in investigations, and help ensure compliance with state and federal laws. The role requires advanced HR credentials, healthcare experience preferred, and strong communication, analytical, and confidentiality

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field plus 1 year HR experience.
• Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations or related field plus 3 years HR experience.
• PHR or SPHR certification and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP preferred.
• Experience in employee/labor relations including investigations and interpretation of CBAs.
• Recent healthcare work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, coordinate, and maintain HR policies, programs, and training with focus on employee/labor relations.
• Advise hospital management on employee and labor relations issues.
• Interpret and educate on policy, state and federal laws, and the collective bargaining agreement.
• Investigate employee issues and provide guidance to management; handle grievances and disciplinary actions.
• Assist with grievance procedures and attend 3rd level grievance meetings.
• Protect interests of employees and organization under laws and CBAs; ensure nondiscriminatory practices.
• Develop processes and tools to support effective employee relations; coordinate unemployment claims.
