Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required in a related field such as industrial/labor relations, HR or business administration.
  • 1–3 years in HR or labor relations with at least 1 year handling employee relations matters.
  • Proficiency with labor laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA) and civil service rules; ability to apply policies.

Responsibilities

  • Investigates, interviews, collects information, and evaluates employee relations matters to determine course of action.
  • Prepares documents related to employee performance concerns and disciplinary charges.
  • Tracks case activity and prepares reports and summaries on labor relations matters.
  • Acts as hearing officer for grievances and assists in dispute resolution.
  • Trains and counsels management on labor relations, affirmative action and personnel practices.
