Job summary

The New York City Department of Transportation, Division of Bridges, seeks a Special Projects Coordinator to support the Assistant Commissioner in developing and managing special projects, strategic initiatives, and operational improvements.

You will work with executives, managers, and external partners to define objectives, track milestones, and deliver effective solutions for agency operations and revenue opportunities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with three years of relevant professional experience or a bachelor's with five years and managerial experience.
• Experience handling capital projects, urban planning, or economic development is preferred.
• Strong ability to lead cross-unit initiatives and coordinate stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, manage, and implement special projects from initiation to delivery with timelines and milestones.
• Coordinate activities across Procurement, Expense, Truck Permits and Capital Finance Units.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and briefings for executives; track progress and resolve issues.
• Identify stakeholders, engage subject matter experts, and ensure alignment across teams.
