Job summary

WSP in the United States is seeking a Project Controls Consultant for our North Carolina teams. You will provide proactive controls, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across projects within the Earth & Environment group.

You will coordinate with PMs, finance, and operations to maintain financial visibility, drive issue resolution, and support leadership with project performance updates.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in project controls, project finance, cost management, forecasting, scheduling, or project management support.
• Proficiency with MS Office; strong Excel skills for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
• Ability to coordinate with PMs, finance, and operations to support setup, reviews, invoicing, forecasting, AR, and governance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project setup including WBS, budgets, cost coding, workflows, and governance.
• Act as liaison among PMs, PFA, PFO, and leadership to ensure timely communication and financial visibility.
• Coordinate horizon updates, budget validation, forecast updates, and performance reporting.
• Prepare concise budget status summaries, variance explanations, and escalation items for leadership.
• Support accounts receivable processes and collaboration with client accounting to keep DSO low.
• Archive project documents and compile lessons learned and client feedback.
