Job summary

Northrop Grumman’s Space System division in Azusa, CA seeks a Production Planner and Scheduler – Level 3 to design and manage production schedules for cable assembly, machine shop, and integration processes. You will coordinate with materials, supply chain, and manufacturing to ensure timely delivery of components.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of operations planning and scheduling experience, strong Excel/PowerPoint skills, and the ability to obtain a US government

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling.
• In lieu of degree: 6-9 years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling.
• Experience in MS Office Applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a US government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
• Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
• Coordinates inter-departmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
• Other tasks as assigned by management.
