Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Azusa, CA seeks a Production Planner and Scheduler – Level 3 to join our Space Systems team. You will plan, issue and control production schedules, coordinate material requirements, and work with multiple departments to meet production goals.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of planning experience or 6–9 years without a degree, and the ability to obtain a US security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling.
• In lieu of degree, 6-9 years of relevant work experience in operations planning and production scheduling.
• Experience in MS Office Applications (Excel and PowerPoint).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government security clearance.
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience planning in an ERP system & familiar with the MRP process.
• Must be a US citizen.

Responsibilities

• Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements.
• Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
• Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components or parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
• Coordinates inter-departmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control, traffic, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
