Job summary

Safariland in Jacksonville, FL seeks a Production Planner to own planning for assigned areas, balance demand, material availability, capacity and inventory to deliver on-time orders and efficient production flow.

You will convert planned orders to production orders, maintain schedules by line, monitor daily output, identify delays, and coordinate with Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Customer Service to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least three years of production planning or scheduling experience in manufacturing.
• Experience using ERP/MRP systems to analyze demand, supply, inventory, planned orders, production orders, and planning exceptions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookup formulas, and analysis of ERP data exports.
• Working knowledge of capacity planning, inventory control, BOMs, routings, lead times, production orders, and planning parameters.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Owns production planning and scheduling for assigned production areas.
• Balance customer demand, material availability, capacity, and inventory requirements to develop executable schedules.
• Convert planned orders into production orders, schedule and release orders, maintain accurate quantities, dates, and statuses.
• Develop, maintain, and communicate executable production schedules by line.
• Monitor daily production output and work-in-process against the schedule; identify late orders and recovery actions.
• Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales to confirm lead times for large orders and coordinate expedite requests.
• Coordinate expedites and approved priority changes with production and shipping; escalate shortages and delivery risks.
• Participate in operations meetings to review DIFOT performance and inventory levels.
• Maintain ERP planning parameters and review BOMs/routings for planning accuracy.
• Perform rough-cut capacity planning across the planning horizon and identify gaps.
