Job summary

Preferred Materials, Inc. in Orlando is seeking a Procurement Buyer to select and purchase quality products, coordinate scheduling, and manage vendor relationships to achieve best cost and on-time deliveries across our construction materials supply chain.

The role focuses on implementing procurement strategy, analyzing spend, and developing suppliers while collaborating with internal stakeholders to resolve challenges and ensure continuity of supply for projects.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education and/or work experience in a related field.
• 3 to 5 years' minimum experience working in procurement.
• Experience in a construction environment is preferred.
• MS Office suite knowledge (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong communication and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with vendors to ensure on time deliveries, quality, and best pricing.
• Handle under/over-shipments and delivery changes with internal stakeholders.
• Act as liaison between suppliers and internal teams to resolve procurement challenges.
• Implement procurement strategy to ensure continuity of supply and alternative sources.
• Understand market dynamics and price movements; communicate to stakeholders.
• Analyze spend for vendors to define portfolio strategy.
• Lead quality improvement programs for vendors and providers.
• Analyze inventory and payment terms financial impact; deliver price-saving projects.
• Lead supplier development programs as assigned by procurement.
