Job summary

The company is seeking an experienced Manufacturing Buyer to manage procurement of raw materials, components, and industrial supplies for production operations. The role balances transactional purchasing with strategic vendor management to ensure high-quality materials flow to the factory floor, while optimizing inventory and reducing lead times.

Qualifications

• ,Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
• 3–5+ years of buying experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
• APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or ISM (CPSM) certification is a plus.
• Solid proficiency with manufacturing ERP/MRP systems (JDE a plus).
• Experience handling fast-paced changes and production schedule shifts.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchase orders (POs) based on MRP prompts, production schedules, forecasts, and targets.
• Expedite open orders and resolve delays to avoid production downtime.
• Review discrepancies regarding pricing, quantities received, and supplier invoices.
• Serve as primary contact for supplier communication and order inquiries.
• Monitor vendor performance focusing on on-time delivery, quality, and cost competitiveness.
• Partner with QA to manage non-conforming materials and corrective actions.
• Maintain ERP inventory parameters including safety stock and lead times.
• Collaborate with planners and warehouse teams to minimize excess stock.
• Solicit RFQs from existing and alternative suppliers to secure best-market pricing.
• Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
