Job summary

Bob’s Discount Furniture is seeking a Senior Pricing Analyst to own the analytical foundation behind pricing decisions across the enterprise, partnering with Merchants, Finance, and Marketing to defend price point recommendations and shape markdown strategy.

This senior individual contributor will move from data to recommendation independently, set standards for pricing analytics, and present insights to senior stakeholders with a clear point of view.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of analytical experience, with depth in retail pricing, merchandising, planning, or finance.
• Advanced Excel skills, including scenario modeling, large dataset handling, and building tools others rely on.
• Proficiency in SQL, including the ability to independently source, join, and validate data across systems.
• Strong command of retail margin mechanics and the levers that drive gross margin performance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience presenting recommendations to senior leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous situations and to mentor less experienced analysts.

Responsibilities

• Own competitive price intelligence and translate into actionable pricing recommendations.
• Lead price point analysis, including margin impact, elasticity read, price gap position, and historical performance.
• Evaluate promotional effectiveness and recommend actions to repeat, reshape, or retire.
• Own markdown analytics: model depth and timing, monitor sell-through, and recommend actions.
• Build pricing models and scenario tools to quantify P&L impact before decisions.
• Own the pricing reporting suite and drive consistency across dashboards and data definitions.
• Maintain pricing data integrity across reporting and systems.
• Drive automation to reduce manual effort and move to self-service reporting.
• Lead complex ad hoc analysis and present clear recommendations to Merchants, Finance, and Leadership.
• Govern pricing change execution and maintain auditable change history.
