Layton Construction in Honolulu, HI, seeks a Pre-Construction Manager to lead its SBU pre-construction efforts, aligning estimating, planning, and business development with the Layton Way. You will supervise estimating and BD staff, ensure accurate cost history, manage budgets and buy-out, and coordinate with marketing, clients, and executives to win profitable projects.

Bachelor degree in CM/related field and 5 years of construction experience required; CMiC and estimating software knowledge

Qualifications

BS in Construction Management or related field.
Five years construction-related experience.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information to groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Proficient PC skills including email, record keeping, databases, word processing and spreadsheets.
Prioritize, organize and delegate assignments.
Experience with CMiC preferred.
Knowledge of estimating software preferred.

Responsibilities

Champions 'The Layton Way' by delivering predictable outcomes for internal teams, external teams, and customers.
Ensure integrity by working with honesty, unity, safety, and quality of work.
Provide leadership for estimating and planning support personnel.
Monitor project budgeting and buy-out processes to ensure reliable information for estimates.
Facilitate communication of cost history for better cost modeling and estimating.
Monitor planning support processes for efficient resource use.
Interface with marketing to ensure brand recognition.
Assist in evaluating, planning and executing new scope of services and profit centers.
Monitor productivity and cost control on SBU projects.
Attend project review meetings and facilitate solutions to budget problems.
Plan and implement training for SBU estimators and BD professionals.
Identify and procure profitable projects by overseeing BD activities and client relationships.
Oversee all sales activities including leads, procurement strategies, proposals, RFQ/SOQ/RFPs.
Establish goals, procedures, systems and tools for sales/marketing tasks.
Commit the company in the project procurement process for SBU projects.
Supervise Estimating and Business Development personnel and coordinate with executives and clients.
Other related duties as assigned.
