Layton Construction in Honolulu, HI seeks a Pre-Construction Manager to drive pre-construction activities for the Strategic Business Unit. You will lead estimating, budgeting, and planning support, ensuring cost history informs pricing and modeling while coordinating with marketing and client teams.

Responsibilities include training for estimators and business development staff, overseeing procurement strategies and RFQ responses, and supervising the estimating and BD teams.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Marketing and/or Communication or equivalent.
• At least five years of construction-related experience.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret business publications, journals, technical procedures and regulations.
• Strong writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities for the SBU.
• Oversee estimating and planning support.
• Monitor budgeting and buy-out processes for reliable estimates.
• Communicate cost history for pricing information and cost modeling.
• Coordinate with marketing to ensure brand and information alignment.
• Plan and implement training for estimators and BD professionals.
• Oversee sales activities including leads, procurement strategies, and RFQs/RSPs.
• Establish goals, procedures, systems and tools for sales/marketing tasks.
• Supervise Estimating and BD staff and processes.
• Collaborate with executives, estimators, planning staff and clients.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
