Job summary

The City of New York Parks & Recreation is seeking a Community Coordinator to support Ranaqua operations in the Bronx. You will develop, coordinate and track borough recreation activities, and manage vendor inquiries and purchases using AMPS and Excel.

The role involves contract administration, branding compliance for marketing materials, and supervision of data entry staff, with responsibilities that extend to budgeting and cross-department collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and two years of related community work experience or equivalent.
• Equivalent education/experience options accepted with at least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and coordinate borough recreation activities.
• Coordinate, process and track vendor/purchasing inquiries and requests.
• Create and maintain borough-wide reports using AMPS and Excel for inventories, OTPS purchases and budgets.
• Administer maintenance contracts and coordinate preventive maintenance with contractors.
• Liaise with Purchasing and Accounting to ensure accurate purchase requisitions and manage PO balances.
• Engage vendors to obtain competitive prices for services and materials; coordinate deliveries to recreation centers.
• Identify funding opportunities with leadership to support business improvements.
• Ensure branding guidelines are followed on all marketing materials.
• Supervise staff performing data entry as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
