Job summary

EPE USA is hiring a Key Account Manager / Packaging Engineer in Hayward, CA, to support a strategic customer. The role blends account management with hands-on packaging engineering and project management.

You will design and optimize packaging, develop CAD drawings, and manage projects end-to-end for the customer’s products, ensuring cost, performance, and sustainability goals are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• 3–5 years in packaging engineering, manufacturing engineering, or technical account management.
• Protective packaging experience and customer-facing engineering preferred.
• Ability to travel to customer facilities and EPE locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for a key customer, building strong relationships and ensuring exceptional service.
• Design, develop, evaluate, and optimize packaging solutions based on customer product requirements, protection needs, cost objectives, and manufacturing capabilities.
• Create and modify packaging designs, technical drawings, and prototypes using CAD software.
• Manage packaging development projects from initial customer requirements through design, prototyping, testing, approval, and production implementation.
• Provide technical support during packaging implementation, production, and troubleshooting.
• Recommend design improvements that increase product protection, packaging performance, sustainability, and operational effectiveness.
• Develop a thorough understanding of the customer's products, packaging requirements, operational processes, and business objectives.
