Job summary

Amcor is seeking a skilled engineer to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers. You will oversee multiple sites from conception to qualification, ensuring productivity, timing and budget adherence while supporting manufacturing locations with process improvements.

The role requires seven years of engineering experience in plastics packaging, strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to manage on-site projects with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging.
• Proven experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an actionable implementation plan with cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements and manage upgrades.
• Evaluate performance and cost of equipment including tooling and workflow.
• Publish weekly status reports on project progress and issues.
• Maintain division level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
