Job summary

Amcor seeks a seasoned engineer to manage complex capital projects related to PET preforms and rigid containers across multiple sites.

You will oversee product reviews from a manufacturing perspective, drive productivity and cost-reduction initiatives, and coordinate with regional directors and plant managers. This role requires travel about 60% and a track record of leading large, cross-functional projects in plastics packaging.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• Seven+ years of professional engineering experience in plastics packaging, including seven years of project management.
• Knowledge of plant layouts and infrastructure equipment.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with SPC (Statistical Process Control).
• Strong interpersonal, management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience evaluating on-site manufacturing opportunities and managing on-site projects from concept to completion.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into a mutually acceptable action plan with input from Regional Directors and Plant Managers.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; develop upgrade plans.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment, tooling, workflow, and vendors.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and support issue resolution.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
