Job summary

Amcor is seeking a Senior Project Manager for capital projects in PET preforms and rigid containers. You will manage complex projects from concept to qualification across sites, drive productivity and cost reduction, and ensure safety and environmental standards are met.

You will lead cross-functional teams and communicate progress weekly. The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering degree and 7+ years in plastics packaging with project management experience, plus strong leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering.
• 7+ years in the plastics packaging industry with project management experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience managing direct reports.
• Experience with SPC.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and support the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into action implementation plans with cost and timing alignment.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment; plan upgrades and expansions.
• Evaluate performance and cost of equipment, tooling, and workflows; engage vendors.
• Publish weekly project status reports and resolve issues.
• Maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Communicate with plants regularly to monitor long-term project performance and resolve issues.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and standards compliance.
• Travel approximately 60%.
