Job summary

Amcor, a leader in packaging, seeks an experienced engineer to manage complex capital projects for PET preforms and rigid containers. You will oversee projects across sites from conception to qualification, ensuring productivity, timing, and budget adherence.

Responsibilities include material BOMs, safety compliance, feasibility refinement, plant infrastructure reviews, cost and performance analyses, and regular status reporting. Expect ~60% travel and cross-site collaboration."

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (required).
• Minimum of seven years professional engineering experience in the plastics packaging industry, including seven years of project management experience.
• Proven experience managing multiple resources and complex projects.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership abilities.
• Experience managing direct reports.

Responsibilities

• Create bills of materials for new capital projects and provide support for the capital appropriation process.
• Ensure that corporate safety and environmental requirements are incorporated into the project scope and budget.
• Refine feasibility studies into an action plan with input from Directors and Plant resources, meeting cost and timing criteria.
• Review plant infrastructure, layout and equipment against project requirements; develop upgrade plans.
• Analyze performance and cost of equipment, tooling, workflow, and vendors.
• Communicate and resolve technical, timing and budget issues; publish weekly status reports.
• Create and maintain division-level technical specifications and documentation for Operations Engineering.
• Regularly communicate with plants to understand long-term project performance and support issue resolution.
• Review CEAV requests for accuracy and compliance.
• Travel ~60%.
