Job summary

Roadrunner is seeking a Special Projects Manager to lead high-impact operational initiatives across the LTL network, translating priorities into measurable improvements at service centers and field locations.

You will assess performance quickly, drive cross-functional alignment, and implement solutions that improve service, safety, productivity, utilization and cost control, with an initial focus on the DLS facility.

Qualifications

• Eight+ years of progressive LTL operations experience.
• Proven experience leading complex operational projects from assessment through implementation.
• Experience managing service center operations and leading teams in fast-moving environments.
• Strong analytical capability using data to identify performance gaps and implement sustainable solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead network-wide operational initiatives from assessment to performance validation.
• Improve service center performance across metrics like safety, productivity, utilization, and cost.
• Provide operational leadership and continuity, including coverage for Service Center Managers as needed.
• Align staffing and labor plans with freight volumes and service requirements; coach supervisors and frontline staff.
• Drive the initial DLS performance assignment with a comprehensive operational review and action plan.
