Job summary

Hancock Whitney Bank in Gonzales, LA seeks an experienced Mortgage Loan Originator to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD while ensuring compliance with investor requirements and relevant laws. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; 2+ years of sales experience required.
• 2+ years of Mortgage origination experience preferred.
• NMLS registration required (SAFE Act).
• Knowledge of mortgage laws, policies, and investor guidelines.
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Originate portfolio loans (conventional, FHA, VA, RD) compliant with investor requirements and laws.
• Provide expert mortgage advice to borrowers and promote bank products.
• Maintain a clean, active pipeline coordinating with processors, underwriters and closers.
• Deliver compliance documents and disclosures in a timely manner.
• Develop and maintain referral networks in the community.
