Job summary

Hancock Whitney in New Orleans seeks a Mortgage Loan Originator to originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD. You’ll assess borrower qualifications, collect documentation, and coordinate with processors, underwriters and closers to move files to closing.

You will develop referral networks with realtors and other partners, stay current with investor guidelines and applicable laws, and maintain a clean pipeline while delivering compliant disclosures and timely updates to all

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree preferred.
2+ years of Mortgage origination experience preferred.
NMLS registration required; active or must register after start date.
Knowledge of Mortgage laws, procedures, rules and regulations.

Responsibilities

Originate portfolio loans including conventional, FHA, VA and RD.
Promote Hancock Whitney Bank products and services to clients and community.
Maintain a clean loan pipeline and coordinate with Processors, Underwriters and Closers.
Take complete applications, collect documentation (tax returns, bank statements, purchase agreement) and prepare borrowers for the process.
Inform applicants of closing costs and coordinate the closing with borrowers, agents and closing agents.
