Job summary

Ballard Spahr is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to support Litigation practices, including Antitrust, Securities Litigation, White Collar, and Government Affairs. The hybrid role requires coordinating with firm leadership, attorneys, and marketing teams to drive growth, strengthen client relationships, and identify new market opportunities.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years in professional services marketing, preferably legal marketing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• At least five years of professional services marketing experience.
• Experience in legal marketing and business development preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to identify relationships and build awareness of firm capabilities with practice and industry organizations.
• Promote the firm's services while aligning with targets and client objectives.
• Maintain a rolling pipeline to forecast opportunities and help attorneys achieve goals.
• Partner with Practice Group Leaders to develop and implement strategic business development plans.
• Collaborate with Client Events and Communications teams to lead BD strategy for events and sponsorships.
• Provide strategic guidance on positioning, messaging, and content for pitches, proposals, and RFPs.
• Assist with developing and managing practice group budgets and evaluating ROI of BD/marketing expenditures.
• Provide BD coaching in group and one-on-one settings.
• Develop target lists and opportunities for new business.
• Market services and expertise through thought leadership and profile-raising activities.
• Ensure relevant practice content and materials are maintained and accessible.
• Travel may be required.
