Job summary

Ballard Spahr LLP is seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to support the Litigation practices, including Antitrust, Securities Litigation, White Collar, and Government Affairs. You will partner with department leadership, attorneys, and marketing to develop growth strategies and strengthen client relationships.

This hybrid role requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and the ability to lead complex initiatives across events and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field required.
• Five+ years of professional services marketing experience, preferably in legal marketing.
• Experience supporting Antitrust, Securities Litigation, White Collar, and Government Affairs practice groups is valued.
• Strong written and verbal communication, editing, and project management skills.
• Experience with CRM platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify relationships and raise awareness of firm capabilities with target practices and industry groups.
• Promote services while aligning with client objectives.
• Maintain a rolling pipeline and forecast targets.
• Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders to develop BD plans.
• Lead BD strategy for events, conferences, sponsorships, and related activities.
• Provide guidance on positioning, messaging, and pitches.
• Assist with budgets and ROI evaluation of BD efforts.
• Provide BD coaching and develop target lists.
• Market lawyers in industry forums through thought leadership.
• Ensure marketing materials are current and accessible.
• Travel may be required.
