Job summary

Ballard Spahr LLP, a nationally recognized law firm, seeks a Business Development Manager to support Litigation practices, including Antitrust, Securities Litigation, White Collar, and Government Affairs. This hybrid role requires strategic thinking and collaboration with partners, attorneys, and marketing colleagues.

You will lead BD plans, events, and content; manage opportunities and budgets; and coach teams to grow client relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Five years of professional services marketing experience, preferably in legal marketing.
• Experience supporting Antitrust, Securities Litigation, White Collar, and Government Affairs practice groups.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; editing and project management.
• Proficiency with CRM platforms and data-driven marketing.

Responsibilities

• Identify relationships and raise awareness of firm capabilities with relevant practice and industry groups.
• Promote the firm's services while aligning efforts with client objectives.
• Maintain a rolling pipeline, forecast targets, and help attorneys reach goals.
• Collaborate with Practice Group Leaders to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Lead BD strategy for events, conferences, sponsorships, and related marketing activities.
• Provide guidance on positioning, messaging, pitches, proposals, and RFPs.
• Assist with budgets and evaluating ROI of BD/marketing expenditures.
• Provide BD coaching in group and one-on-one settings.
• Develop target lists and opportunities for new business.
• Market services through thought leadership and profile-raising activities.
• Oversee content materials and ensure accessible marketing resources.
• Some travel may be required.
