Job summary

Plaid Inc in Raleigh, NC is hiring for an Account Executive to drive new lender partnerships and expand relationships with Plaid's lending customers. You will engage a curated list of lenders, understand their goals, and tailor Plaid’s credit solutions to help them grow.

The role requires a proven, quota‑carrying track record in direct sales, strong prospecting and negotiation skills, and the ability to explain APIs and Plaid’s technology to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a quota‑carrying direct sales role, preferably within the consumer lending or credit space.
• Excellent prospecting, qualifying, and negotiating skills; consultative sales approach with a customer‑centric mindset.
• Working knowledge of APIs and a desire to understand how Plaid works 'under the hood'
• Professional yet relaxed communication style, with the ability to break‑down complex concepts and explain them in simple terms to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders
• Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels of an organization, without being perceived as ‘salesy’

Responsibilities

• Identify opportunities for Plaid solutions to deliver value, with both prospective high‑growth and existing lending customers
• Develop a book of high‑potential engaged prospects and maintain a sufficient pipeline to support successful attainment against quota
• Own the end‑to‑end sales cycle and coordinate efforts from sales engineers, product specialists, and other team members throughout the sales process
• Coordinate cross‑functional resources and drive initiatives across Plaid to support a consultative sales motion
• Manage pipeline and accurately forecast deal value and win probability
• Develop a deep understanding of Plaid solutions and apply this knowledge by identifying how each customer can leverage our technology to achieve their unique goals and objectives
