Job summary

Arnold & Porter is seeking a Business Development Manager to support multiple transactional practices, based in New York or Washington, DC. You will partner with practice chairs, attorneys, and the Marketing Department to shape BD strategies, lead pitches, and enhance client growth.

You will oversee marketing collateral, webinars, and awards submissions while mentoring BD professionals and ensuring alignment with firm priorities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of six years of marketing and business development experience.
• Experience in law firm or professional services is preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to manage complex projects with competing priorities.
• Proficiency with CRM tools and data-driven decision making.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute business development strategies for transactional practices.
• Lead pitches, proposals, and client engagement activities.
• Coach attorneys on business development best practices for client meetings.
• Create and maintain marketing collateral and practice descriptions.
• Oversee budgets and measure ROI of BD initiatives.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Events, and BI teams to support priorities.
• Mentor and supervise BD professionals across practice groups.
