Job summary

Arnold & Porter is a global law firm seeking a Business Development Manager in New York or Washington, DC to support premier transactional practices including Bankruptcy & Restructuring, Tax, Private Client Services, Project Finance, Sovereign Finance, and Syndicated & Leveraged Finance.

You will partner with practice group leaders to develop and execute business development strategies, drive client growth, lead pitches and proposals, and enhance the market profile of these practices.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of six years of marketing and business development experience.
Experience in law firm or professional services preferred.
Experience supporting corporate, finance, restructuring, tax, or related transactional practices preferred.
Strong writing, editing and communication skills.
Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement strategic business development plans for select transactional practice areas.
Lead client-focused pitches, proposals, and RFP responses.
Coach attorneys on business development best practices and client meetings prep.
Create and maintain business plans supporting growth objectives.
Oversee marketing collateral, league tables, and client-facing materials.
Coordinate webinars, client events, and thought leadership initiatives.
Lead submissions for legal directories and awards.
