Arnold & Porter is a global law firm seeking a Business Development Manager to support multiple premier transactional practices, with potential base in New York or Washington, DC. The role partners with practice chairs and attorneys to develop and execute BD strategies, drive client growth, lead pitches, and enhance market profile across the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of six years of marketing and business development experience.
• Experience in law firm or professional services preferred.
• Experience supporting corporate, finance, restructuring, tax, or related transactional practices.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to build credibility and strong relationships with partners and senior stakeholders.
• Experience supervising and mentoring team members.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute business development strategies for strategic transactional practice areas.
• Lead pitches, proposals, and RFP responses articulating the firm's value proposition.
• Oversee marketing collateral, practice descriptions, and client-facing materials, and manage league tables/experience databases.
• Coordinate webinars, client events, and thought leadership initiatives; manage awards submissions.
• Support lateral partner integration with targeted client planning and BD efforts.
• Develop and manage budgets; use CRM tools for client targeting and relationship management.
• Supervise, mentor, and provide coverage across practice groups; foster a high-performing team culture.
