Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive HR experience including employee relations and performance management.
• Experience supporting multi-site or regional operations.
• Working knowledge of California employment laws; union experience preferred.
• Multi-unit retail experience preferred.
• Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR partner for employee relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution.
• Advise managers on employee relations issues ensuring fair, compliant policy application.
• Support union-related matters and coordinate grievances per collective bargaining agreements.
• Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, and progressive discipline.
• Coordinate with payroll, benefits, and state agencies; ensure timely documentation and filings.
• Support leaves of absence and accommodations and assist with employee onboarding.
• Maintain clear communication and track cases, trends, and outcomes.
