Job summary

The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety is seeking a dependable Human Resources Management Specialist III or II to support recruitment, onboarding, and HR operations. You will maintain records, guide policy interpretation, and coordinate complex HR processes.

This role requires a solid HR background, excellent communication, and the ability to handle confidential information, with the DPS offering a generous benefits package and paid time off.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of professional HR experience for Level II; Master’s degree or equivalent for Level II.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of professional HR experience for Level III; Master’s plus 1 year or equivalent.
• Relevant HR experience should include recruitment, personnel administration, classification, compensation, benefits, and payroll administration.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate employee information and personnel records in HR systems.
• Coordinate recruitment, hiring, onboarding, and related activities.
• Monitor HR processes from initiation to completion with deadlines and documentation.
• Provide guidance on HR policies to leadership, supervisors, and staff.
• Maintain documentation and ensure compliance throughout the employee life cycle.
• Manage assigned HR programs with sound judgment and discretion.
• Communicate with internal and external partners about HR steps and timelines.
• Assist with HR projects, reporting, and advanced HR activities.
