Job summary

George Mason University’s University Life HR Services is seeking an experienced UL HR Partner to provide strategic HR leadership across designated units, ensuring compliant, high-quality service and an excellent employee experience.

Reporting to the Associate Director, the HRP will supervise staff, guide recruitment, performance management, and HR operations, and collaborate with Central HR to support workforce planning and policy implementation across UL.

Qualifications

Demonstrated full-time work experience in Human Resources, Payroll, or closely related field.
Experience managing standard recruiting processes and collaborating with hiring managers.
Proven ability to lead and supervise staff and manage multiple tasks.
Strong communication and relationship-building abilities across diverse audiences.
Knowledge of HR policies, employment law, and compliance in higher education.
Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary HR partner for assigned UL units, providing full-service HR consultation.
Advise on recruitment and workforce needs while ensuring compliance and workforce planning.
Lead and supervise the HR team, including workload planning and performance management.
Conduct evaluations, document performance, and coach staff for development and engagement.
Maintain confidential employee records and escalate issues as needed.
Coordinate with UL and Central HR to deliver consistent HR services.
