Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks an experienced HR Professional to provide strategic vision and operational HR services within the Office of the Provost. The role supports faculty and staff as part of the HR Shared Services team, delivering high-impact HR solutions and expert counsel across units in a collaborative, hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, management, public administration, HR, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Extensive HR advisory experience with senior leaders and managers.
• Proven ability to build partnerships across a large, multi-faceted organization.
• Strong problem solving, policy interpretation and guidance capabilities.
• Deep HR expertise across employment, compensation, performance, and employee relations.
• Ability to influence leaders and translate business objectives into HR strategies.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance on HR issues and contribute to HR policy development.
• Advise on complex matters including contracts, performance management, and employee relations.
• Identify organizational needs and plan programs with university partners.
• Execute process improvements to enhance HR program efficiency and effectiveness.
• Deliver trainings and support service areas with targeted HR solutions.
• Participate in HR community activities and cross-unit projects.
