Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking an experienced HR Professional to deliver both strategic vision and operational HR services for the Office of the Provost. You will partner with the HR Shared Services team to support the College of Humanities and Sciences and other units.

The role requires collaboration with senior leaders, strong consultative skills, and the ability to implement HR programs in a dynamic academic environment. Hybrid work arrangement is available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent experience.
• Experience advising senior leaders, managers, and employees.
• Strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to translate business objectives into HR strategies.
• Knowledge of HR policies, regulations, and processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational HR leadership to the Provost's Office.
• Consult on complex matters including contract development, performance, and employee relations.
• Identify unit needs and plan programs with cross-unit partnerships.
• Lead process improvements to increase HR efficiency and effectiveness.
• Support training and onboarding activities and participate in HR initiatives.
