Burke & Herbert Bank seeks an experienced HR Business Partner to act as a strategic partner between HR and bank leadership. The role focuses on improving workforce relations, coaching managers, and guiding performance management and policy interpretation.

The position emphasizes change management, workforce planning, and maintaining organizational charts, with a strong commitment to service excellence in HR practices.

Qualifications

• Seven or more years of increasing responsible HR experience across multiple HR functions
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field; or equivalent experience
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, or related certification is a plus

Responsibilities

• Partner with leadership to improve work relationships, morale, productivity and retention.
• Provide day-to-day performance management guidance (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
• Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
• Investigate employee relations issues and ensure consistent handling across the company.
• Assist with terminations and witness where applicable.
• Coach managers on issue resolution and employee development.
• Support change management initiatives.
• Contribute to workforce planning and organizational design.
• Keep organizational charts updated and coordinate staffing.
