Job summary

Burke & Herbert Bank & Trust seeks an HR Business Partner to align HR strategy with bank leadership. You will coach leaders, guide performance and disciplinary actions, and manage employee relations investigations to support retention and engagement.

This exempt role reports to the Director of Human Resources and works to ensure policy interpretation and workforce planning across the bank’s locations. Occasional travel and telework not available.

Qualifications

• Seven+ years of HR experience across multiple functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field required.
• SHRM-CP/SCP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Partners with leadership to improve relationships and retention.
• Provides day-to-day HR guidance and coaching.
• Manages employee relations investigations with thoroughness.
• Guides workforce planning and organizational design.
• Assists with Talent Acquisition policy and staffing alignment.
• Maintains updated organizational charts and termination processes.
• Supports change management initiatives across the business.
• Conducts annual and 90-day evaluations.
• Ensures compliance with HR policies and regulations.
• Occasional travel to assigned locations as needed.
