Job summary

MiEnergy Cooperative in Rushford, MN (with occasional travel to Cresco, IA) seeks a Human Resources Manager to oversee employment practices, compensation, benefits and training programs in line with our cooperative values. You will manage employee relations, performance, and workforce planning while ensuring legal compliance.

The role requires leadership experience, strong communication and analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with managers across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field with 5+ years of experience, or associate’s degree with 10+ years of experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in leading or managing others.
• Training in employment law, benefit administration, training, and supervision preferred.
• Experience in developing compensation, benefits and workforce programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee HR functions including employment practices, compensation, benefits, training and workforce planning.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws.
• Advise on HR policies and changes; develop recruitment and onboarding strategies.
• Promote learning, manage apprenticeship programs and training.
• Administer benefits, COBRA, leave, and payroll backup as needed.
• Maintain confidential personnel files and prepare HR data for meetings.
