Job summary

Joint Commission is seeking an HR Generalist to support employees and managers within assigned business areas. You will oversee onboarding, promotions, transfers, and lifecycle events while advising managers on policy interpretation, performance, and relations matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in HR, business, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressively responsible HR experience, preferably as a generalist.
• Experience guiding managers on employee relations, performance, and policy interpretation.
• Experience with HR information systems; Workday is preferred.
• SHRM-CP or PHR or similar certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a primary HR resource for managers and employees within assigned areas, guiding policies, performance, and lifecycle matters.
• Coach managers on performance expectations, feedback, documentation, corrective action, and difficult conversations.
• Provide HR support across onboarding, promotions, transfers, organizational changes, leaves, and separations.
• Support talent reviews, succession planning, and employee development within assigned areas.
• Monitor turnover, vacancies, relations activity, performance trends and engagement results.
• Support HR process efficiency using Workday and other systems to improve accuracy and user experience.
• Assist with organizational changes, workforce initiatives, and new HR programs.
• Apply HR policies consistently and manage risk, escalating when necessary.
• Participate in HR projects and enterprise programs with HR Centers of Excellence.
