Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in Elkridge, Maryland is seeking an HR Generalist/HR Business Partner who balances strategic initiatives with day-to-day business partnership, delivering programs that impact multiple organizations and serving as trusted advisor to leaders and employees.

This role will partner closely with HR Business Partners, managers, and staff to support the employee experience across the Defense organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business, or a related field preferred.
• 2 - 5+ years of progressive HR Administration, HR Business Generalist, or equivalent HR experience.
• Strong employee relations and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Demonstrated business acumen and analytical capability.
• Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word.
• Experience working with HR systems; Workday experience is preferred.
• Able and willing to travel approximately 15%.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted HR advisor and first point of contact for managers and employees.
• Provide coaching and guidance on performance management, employee relations, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and workplace concerns.
• Conduct employee investigations and recommend practical, compliant resolutions.
• Support recruiting activities, candidate selection, onboarding, and workforce planning initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and HR procedures.
• Partner with leaders to implement action plans based on data-driven insights.
