Job summary

Aleph Holdings is seeking a strategic, hands-on Director of HR to build and grow a scalable HR department for 100+ employees and contractors across multiple states. You will oversee compliance, recruiting, onboarding, payroll, benefits, and subcontractor documentation, while guiding managers on performance and employee relations.

The role reports to the Director of Finance and focuses on creating policies, overseeing HR operations, and ensuring consistent HR practices across all operating

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of progressive HR experience, including leading and building an HR function.
• Experience supporting a multistate workforce of employees and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of employment regulations, payroll compliance, benefits administration, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a scalable HR department that supports 100+ employees and contractors across multiple operating companies.
• Monitor multistate regulatory changes and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements including OSHA and FMLA.
• Advise leadership on HR compliance requirements and best practices.
• Oversee recruiting and applicant tracking system and employee/contractor tracking software.
• Oversee onboarding, offboarding and documentation.
• Oversee subcontractor onboarding and agreements with proper documentation.
• Revise and maintain the employee handbook and HR policies.
• Standardize Annual Reward Planners across operating companies.
• Guide managers through performance improvement plans and employee relations matters.
• Oversee payroll process and provide guidance on termination pay and state tax accounts.
• Oversee employee benefits programs including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PFML and PTO.
• Oversee liability insurance, workers' compensation, records/logs, and insurance claims in coordination with providers.
