Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to serve as a strategic and operational partner for the assigned program, ensuring compliant HR practices, employee relations, and workforce initiatives. This role coaches leaders through complex decisions and upholds a positive, inclusive, high-performing workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Labor Relations, Business, or related field.
• PHR/SPHR recommended.
• Minimum six (6) years’ experience in Human Resources environment.
• Labor relations experience preferred.
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws.
• Proficiency in MS Office products.
• Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Must obtain and maintain a Secret US Government Clearance.
• US Citizenship required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR point of contact for employees and leaders within the assigned program.
• Build strong, credible relationships across all levels of the organization while maintaining neutrality and confidentiality.
• Coach leaders through difficult employment decisions using sound judgment.
• Partner with leadership to develop and implement employee engagement, retention, and workforce development initiatives.
• Provide guidance on employee counseling, corrective actions, performance management, and terminations.
• Conduct exit interviews to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
• Communicate and enforce internal HR policies and ensure escalation where necessary.
• Investigate employee concerns and ethics/compliance matters; escalate as needed.
• Maintain documentation and reporting related to employee matters and investigations.
• Support Leaves of Absence communication with Benefits team.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition on recruiting strategies.
• Provide guidance on performance management, merit planning, and development.
• Lead training sessions on HR topics and compliance.
• Maintain accurate employee documentation in electronic files and trackers.
