Job summary

City of Hamilton is seeking an HR Business Partner to integrate human resources into strategic planning and operations. The role involves advising department heads on recruitment, testing, pay, benefits, and employee relations while ensuring compliance with civil service rules.

Under the Human Resources Director, you will manage position classifications, compensation plans, onboarding, benefits administration, training programs, and record-keeping.

Qualifications

• Associate degree plus 7+ years HR experience; or Bachelor's with 5+; or Master's with 3+.
• HR certification (SHRM-CP, HRCI, or PSHRA) preferred.
• City/county HR experience and Civil Service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Advise department heads and City employees on HR matters including recruitment and benefits.
• Administer and maintain position classifications and compensation plans.
• Oversee onboarding, civil service prep, and performance evaluations.
• Maintain employee records and benefits enrollment processes.
• Ensure compliance with civil service rules and regulations.
