Job summary

The City of Hamilton, Ohio is seeking an experienced HR professional to serve as a human resources business partner, integrating HR into strategic planning and operations. Under the oversight of the HR Director, you will advise management, supervise staff in a training capacity, and build cooperative relationships across departments.

Responsibilities include advising department heads on recruitment, testing, selection, pay and benefits, on-boarding, investigations, and performance management;

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree in HR or related field with minimum 7 years of HR experience.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field with minimum 5 years of HR experience.
• Master's degree in HR or related field with minimum 3 years of HR experience.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Human Resources.
• HR certification within two years of employment (SHRM-CP, HRCI, or PSHRA).

Responsibilities

• Meets, consults with, and advises City Department and Division Heads, City employees, and the public regarding personnel matters.
• Develops and maintains recruitment processes and on-boarding.
• Assists with internal investigations.
• Maintains position classification and compensation plans.
• Analyzes turnover and benefits utilization.
• Develops explanations for proposed policy changes.
• Maintains accruals and leave programs.
• Manages employee records and benefit enrollment.
