Job summary

Indiana University Bloomington is seeking an HR Generalist/HRBP to provide tactical HR guidance across faculty and staff. You will partner with Chairs and leadership to support salary administration, recruiting, and policy interpretation while resolving complex employee relations issues with COEs.

The role also covers visa processing, promotions, and tenure facilitation within a large university portfolio. Preferred candidates hold a HR-focused degree and SHRM-CP/PHR within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 3 years of HR or related progressively responsible experience.
• SHRM-CP/PHR certification preferred within 1 year.
• Strong collaboration, communication, and coaching skills.
• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Local employment laws/regulations.
• Ability to influence internal and external constituencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide tactical guidance on salary administration, hiring, training, and policy interpretation.
• Resolve complex employee relations issues with continued partnership and COE support.
• Support academic personnel processes including leaves, visas, and promotions/tenure.
• Collaborate with Chairs and leaders to improve engagement and retention.
• Coach leaders on policy interpretation, workforce planning, and change management.
• Deliver HR consulting and problem-solving solutions to leaders and managers.
• Support university-wide HR initiatives with COEs.
