Job summary

Vizient is seeking a strategic category leader to act as a trusted advisor for assigned category portfolios. You will craft and execute category strategies that deliver financial, operational, clinical, and organizational value while guiding complex sourcing and contracting initiatives.

You will convene stakeholder alignment, leverage market intelligence, analytics, and AI to influence decisions. You will lead end-to-end sourcing, negotiate complex terms, present to executives, and mentor team

Qualifications

• Advanced analytical skills to translate data into strategic recommendations.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational and supplier stakeholders.
• Experience leading complex category management, sourcing and contracting in healthcare.
• Strong negotiation and contracting skills with complex supplier agreements.
• Demonstrated knowledge of AI tools and responsible use for business decisions.
• Willingness to travel ~25%.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead category strategies for complex portfolios.
• Serve as category subject matter expert across sourcing, contracting, and value analysis.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing: RFI/RFP, negotiations, contracts and implementation.
• Negotiate complex terms and provide strategic contracting guidance.
• Facilitate alignment among clinical, executive, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Present strategies and outcomes to executive audiences; build trust for value delivery.
• Collaborate across teams to meet annual financial and strategic goals.
• Anticipate market, regulatory, and supplier developments to identify savings and efficiency opportunities.
• Mentor teammates and represent Vizient in client and industry engagements.
• Apply advanced AI fluency to enhance strategy and decision-making.
