Job summary

Vizient seeks an experienced Category Leader to act as a strategic advisor and subject-matter expert for assigned category portfolios. You will develop and execute category strategies, lead complex sourcing and contracting initiatives, and influence stakeholders to deliver financial, operational, and clinical value for clients.

You will engage cross-functional teams, present to executives, and mentor colleagues while applying advanced AI fluency to enhance market intelligence and decision

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher preferred.
• 7+ years of relevant experience required.
• Healthcare/Hospital/GPO negotiation experience required.
• Strong negotiation and contracting skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead comprehensive category strategies aligned with client priorities and objectives.
• Serve as category SME and strategic advisor across sourcing, contracting, and value analysis initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives: RFI/RFP, supplier evaluation, negotiations, contracts, implementation, monitoring.
• Provide mentoring and strategic guidance on category management and supplier engagements.
• Travel approximately 25% to meet with clients and stakeholders.
