Job summary

Vizient, Inc. is seeking a Category Management Director to serve as the strategic leader and trusted advisor for assigned category portfolios.

You will develop category strategies, lead complex sourcing, and guide value-analysis discussions to drive measurable financial, operational, clinical, and organizational value for members. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with physicians, clinicians, supply chain leaders, and executives.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree preferred.
• 7+ years in category management, strategic sourcing, supply chain, or related field.
• Proven ability to lead complex sourcing and category management initiatives.
• Experience influencing executive, clinical, operational, and supplier stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead category leadership & strategy for assigned portfolios and serve as the primary advisor.
• Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing & contracting activities with suppliers.
• Guide stakeholder committees and present to executive audiences.
• Manage a complex category portfolio across cross-functional teams.
• Apply analytics to identify savings, standardization, and operational improvements; leverage AI responsibly.
