Job summary

Vizient is seeking a Category Management Director to act as a strategic leader and advisor for assigned category portfolios. You will develop category strategies that deliver financial, operational and clinical value while guiding complex sourcing initiatives and stakeholder alignment across cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes AI fluency to enhance strategy development and decision-making, with a hybrid work model requiring three days per week in the office across multiple locations

Qualifications

• 7+ years in category management, strategic sourcing or related field.
• Experience leading complex sourcing initiatives and category management programs.
• Proven ability to influence executive, clinical, operational and supplier stakeholders.
• Strong negotiation and contracting experience with complex supplier agreements.
• Excellent executive communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
• Healthcare, group purchasing, consulting, or highly regulated industry experience preferred.
• Hybrid work model with three days in office; locations include Irving, TX; Chicago, IL; Cape Girardeau, MO and Centennial, CO.
• Willingness to travel and adapt in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead category strategies aligned to client priorities and objectives.
• Serve as the category subject matter expert and strategic advisor across sourcing, contracting and value analysis.
• Identify opportunities through spend, utilization, supplier performance, market conditions, and member priorities.
• Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives: RFI/RFP, negotiations, and contract development.
