Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC in Kansas City seeks a Sr. Operations Manager to oversee budget, people development, and site objectives.

You will lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching them to meet performance goals while building strong employee relations and leadership strength within the Fulfillment Center. This strategic role balances operational excellence with team development, driving improvements through Lean methods, setting clear expectations, and partnering with HR, Finance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of equivalent experience.
• 7+ years direct management experience in a manufacturing, production or distribution environment.
• Experience with performance metrics, process improvement and Lean techniques.
• Prior experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and termination.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and implementation of quality improvement and process optimization initiatives, including Lean methodologies.
• Responsible for overall performance of either Inbound or Outbound operation, including safety, quality and customer experience.
• Sets and clarifies requirements and expectations for Operations and Area Managers; measures performance and provides feedback.
• Leverages Operations and Area Managers by sourcing ideas and creating improvement plans for the area.
• Shares best practices across departments, shifts, and network, and collaborates with HR, Finance, Safety, IT and other Sr. Operations Managers.
