Job summary

River City Logistics in Dubuque, IA is seeking an Account Manager to drive growth in a fast-paced, customer-facing role. You will manage existing customers while expanding the portfolio, coordinate with carriers, and stay current on market rates and trends.

You’ll communicate with clients and carriers daily, negotiate rates, and work within a metrics-driven environment to deliver exceptional service and on-time shipments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment.
• Strong phone presence with outbound calling.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Persuasive negotiation and closing abilities.
• Comfort in a fast-paced, metrics-driven environment.
• Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers and carrier reps.
• Maintain high KPI scores meeting or exceeding expectations.
• Manage a current book of business and add new customers.
• Stay up to date with market rates, trends, and weather.
• Build shipments and set pick-up/delivery appointments.
• Bid on spot shipments, complete RFPs and SOPs.
