Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Fleet Services Manager in the Property Management, Fleet Division to lead the day-to-day operations of a large municipal fleet. You will guide programs, staffing, budgeting and policy execution to keep equipment safe and reliable for city services.

Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field, four years of fleet maintenance experience with supervisory responsibilities, and the ability to coordinate field operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in automotive/mechanical engineering, public or business administration, industrial technology, or related field.
• Four years of progressively responsible fleet maintenance experience.
• One year of supervisory and administrative experience.

Responsibilities

• Assumes full management responsibility for day-to-day section services and activities; recommends and administers policies.
• Assists in the management, development, and implementation of fleet division goals, objectives and policies.
• Establishes appropriate services and staffing levels; monitors efficiency and effectiveness of services; allocates resources.
• Continuously monitors and evaluates the quality and responsiveness of fleet programs; works on improvements with staff.
• Assists in planning and coordinating the department’s work plan; assigns projects and evaluates methods.
• Monitors workload and reporting relationships; identifies opportunities for improvement; directs changes.
• Selects, trains, and evaluates personnel; coordinates training; enforces discipline procedures.
• Oversees department budget, monitors expenditures and revenues; manages procurement and inventory.
